Ceramic Hello
Ceramic Hello: is a minimal wave band formed in 1980 in Burlington, ON, Canada.
The band was founded by Brett Wickens shortly after he left the Spoons. The first incarnation of the group was called "The Jovial Foresters", which made one live performance, and produced a few unreleased songs in a prog rock style.
Wickens then decided to record a proper album of his own minimalist / techno material, and recruited Roger Humphreys to compose short 'bridge' instrumentals between his longer tracks. The resulting album, titled "The Absence of a Canary", was limited to 1000 copies and released on the Canadian label Mannequin Records (founded by Paul Abrahams).
A new Ceramic Hello LP is currently on work, titled "Daisy Cutter". After a couple of false starts during 2006, Ceramic Hello are back on track with working on new material. As Roger now lives in England, and Brett lives in California, they have had to figure out creative ways of long distance collaboration. Read more on Last.fm.
